This film, which I was brought on to co-direct, was part of a two-part series that went out on the anniversary of the 7/7 London terrorist attacks.

I’m quite proud of the mostly still photo reconstructions I developed – with the talented guys at BDH — for the film.

When you have some of the brave survivors of the attack on the Underground recounting their experiences, how can you visualise what happened to them on screen without it seeming naff and cheap?

I’ve used dramatized still photos before – in This Is A True Story – as a way of evoking the feeling of a moment, rather than trying to literally represent it through “drama” as a scene.

It seemed a perfect approach for what we were hoping to do here.
